COAST GUARD RESCUED A FOREIGN FEMALE FROM DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post, Mirissa public beach saved a foreign female during a successful rescue attempt on 14th May 2023. At the Mirissa public beach, a 56-year-old Russian female who was at risk of drowning and being pulled away by currents was rescued by the Coast Guard rescuers stationed at the lifesaving post.

The swift response by skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers managed to save this female foreigner despite the rough sea condition in the area.

So far in 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued 90 invaluable lives including 45 foreigners in several successful rescue attempts.
