COAST GUARD RESCUED A LOCAL FROM RISK OF DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post Panadura public beach saved a local during a successful rescue attempt on 03rd June 2023.

A 17-years old local male was rescued by Coast Guard rescuers whilst at risk of drowning at sea. The expeditious response by skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers managed to save this local male despite the heavy current in the area.

So far in 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued 98 invaluable lives including 50 foreigners in several successful rescue attempts.
