COAST GUARD RESCUED A LOCAL TEENAGER FROM RISK OF DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post Benthota public beach saved a local teenager during a successful rescue attempt on 08^th June 2023.

A 12-years old male teenager was rescued by Coast Guard rescuers whilst at risk of drowning at sea. The expeditious response by skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers managed to save this local teenager despite the heavy current in the area.

So far in 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued 99 invaluable lives including 50 foreigners in several successful rescue attempts.
