COAST GUARD RESCUED A FOREIGN COUPLE FROM RISK OF DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post Mirissa public beach saved a foreign couple during a successful rescue attempt on 09th June 2023.

A 26-years and 27 years-old German male and female were rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at lifesaving post Mirissa beach whilst at risk of drowning.

The expeditious response by skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers managed to save this foreign couple from the risk of drowning despite the heavy current in the area.

So far in 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued 101 invaluable lives including 52 foreigners in several successful rescue attempts.
