COAST GUARD RESCUED TWO LOCALS FROM RISK OF DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post Gopalapuram public beach saved two locals during a successful rescue attempt on 25th June 2023.

Two local females aged 30 & 32 years old were rescued by Coast Guard rescuers whilst at risk of drowning at sea. The expeditious response by skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers managed to save these local females despite the heavy current in the area.

So far in 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued 108 invaluable lives including 54 foreigners in several successful rescue attempts.
