COAST GUARD RESCUED TWO FOREIGN TEENAGERS AND A LOCAL FROM DROWNING

The Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) Life Savers attached to Mirissa and Gopalapuram life-saving posts saved two foreign teenagers and a local during a successful rescue attempt on 04th July 2023.

Two foreign male and female teenagers (Czech Republic) aged 09 & 07 years old and a 21 years old local male were rescued by Coast Guard rescuers attached to the Mirissa and Gopalapuram public beaches whilst drowning and dragged away from the current.

The swift response by skilled Sri Lankan Coast Guard Life Savers saved these foreign teenagers and local lives despite heavy currents in the area.

So far in 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued 128 invaluable lives including 57 foreigners in several successful rescue attempts.
