SRI LANKA COAST GUARD RESCUED LOCALS FROM RISK OF DROWNING

On 08th July 2023, the Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers stationed at Mt Lavinia Lifesaving post successfully rescued four local males, aged between 15 to 17 years, during a drowning incident at Mt-Lavinia Sea. Despite the challenging conditions caused by heavy currents, the highly skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers promptly responded and managed to save these individuals.

In the ongoing year of 2023, the Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers, stationed at 16 life-saving posts across the country, have demonstrated their expertise by rescuing a total of 133 lives, including 57 foreigners, through multiple successful rescue operations. These valiant efforts highlight the dedication and commitment of our lifesaving personnel in safeguarding precious lives in and around the coastal areas of Sri Lanka.
