COAST GUARD LIFESAVERS RESCUED TWO LOCAL YOUTHS

The Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) life savers attached to Gopalapuram life-saving post, Trincomalee saved two local youths during a successful rescue attempt in the evening of 13^th July 2023.

Two youths were aged 25 & 16 years old males and rescued by the skilled SLCG lifesavers whilst drowning and dragged away due to heavy currents at Gopalapuram beach, Trincomalee.

So far during the 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard life savers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued 143 invaluable lives including 58 foreigners in many successful rescue attempts.
