COAST GUARD RESCUED ANOTHER TEENAGER FROM DROWNING

The Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) life savers attached to Mount Lavinia life-saving post saved a 16 years old boy on 15th July 2023 whilst drowning and dragging away by the sea current.

The teenager was a resident of Rathmalana area and has visited to Mount Lavinia beach for sea bathing. After sometime at sea, the boy was dragging towards the sea by the heavy currents and became drowning. The highly skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers promptly responded and managed to save the boy.

So far during the year 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard life savers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued 144 invaluable lives including 58 foreigners in many successful rescue attempts.
