SRI LANKA COAST GUARD RESCUED LOCALS FROM RISK OF DROWNING

On 09th July 2023, the Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers stationed at the Mt Lavinia Lifesaving Station demonstrated their exceptional skills by successfully rescuing three local males, aged 18 to 20, who were involved in a drowning incident in the Mt-Lavinia Sea. Rescued persons were safely handed over to relations after completion of first aid.

This particular rescue incident adds to the remarkable track record of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers stationed at 16 different life-saving sites nationwide. Throughout the year 2023, these dedicated personnel have showcased their expertise by rescuing a total of 136 lives, including 57 foreigners, in various successful rescue operations. These commendable efforts exemplify the unwavering dedication and commitment of our lifesaving personnel towards preserving valuable lives in and around Sri Lanka's coastal districts.
