COAST GUARD RESCUES TWO LOCALS FROM RISK OF DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post-Gopalapuram, Trincomalee saved a local male and a female during a successful rescue attempt on 17th July 2023.

Both of the persons were aged 22 years and rescued by the skilled Coast Guard rescuers whilst at risk of drowning and dragging towards the sea heavy currents.

So far in 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued 150 invaluable lives including 58 foreigners during numbers of successful rescue attempts.
