COAST GUARD LIFE SAVERS RESCUED FOUR LOCAL TEENAGERS

The Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) Lifesavers attached to Mount Lavinia’s life-saving post, saved four local teenagers during a successful rescue attempt in the afternoon on 26thJuly 2023.

These male teenagers were aged 17 years old each and they were rescued by the skilled SLCG Lifesavers whilst drowning and dragged away due to heavy currents at Mount Lavinia beach.

So far during 2023, SLCG Lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued 160 invaluable lives including 59 foreigners in many successful rescue attempts.
