COAST GUARD RESCUES AN ENGLISH TEENAGER BOY FROM DROWNING

A foreign teenager was rescued from drowning at Mirissa beach by the skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers during a successful rescue attempt on 31st July 2023.

The English teenager who was in age 17 has visited Mirissa beach to have a sea bath and the Coast Guard lifesavers attached to Mirissa Lifesaving Post have observed that the boy was drowning and dragging away. They immediately responded to take action to escape the boy away from risk by showing their professionalism.

During the year 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 165 lives, including 63 foreigners, in a number of successful rescue operations.
