COAST GUARD LIFESAVERS RESCUED A LOCAL FROM THE RISK OF DROWNING

The Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) lifesavers attached to the Mt-Lavinia life-saving post, saved a young local during a successful rescue attempt on the evening of 27th July 2023.

This 23-year-old local male was rescued by the skilled SLCG lifesavers whilst at risk of drowning and dragged away due to sudden currents forming in Mt-Lavinia sea these South - West Monsoon days.

So far during 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued 161 invaluable lives including 59 foreigners in many successful rescue attempts.
