ANOTHER LOCAL MALE WAS RESCUED BY COAST GUARD LIFESAVERS

Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to Unawatuna Lifesaving Post rescued a local male from drowning on 05th August 2023.

The 38 years old local male has visited Unawatuna beach to have a sea bath. When he was bathing, suddenly started drowning due to sea currents. The cautious Coast Guard lifesavers observed the person was in danger and responded immediately to escape him from drowning and bring the victim safely to ashore.

So far, Coast Guard lifesavers have shown their professionalism, vigilance and commitment for many years by saving 1976 invaluable local and foreign human lives. They have successfully rescued total of 171 lives, including 67 foreigners within the year 2023, in a number of rescue attempts.
