COAST GUARD RESCUES ANOTHER RUSSIAN LADY WHILST DROWNING AT MIRISSA BEACH

Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to Mirissa Lifesaving Post rescued a Russian from drowning lady on 04th August, evening.

The Russian lady was 26 years of age and has visited to Mirissa beach to enjoy the nature and have a sea bath. Suddenly she it was started drowning and dragging away by the sea currents. The Coast Guard lifesavers responded within no time to ensure safety and prevent a possible danger of life to the young lady.

When she was bringing to ashore sand has gotten into her eyes. The Coast Guard medical staff took actions to wash her eyes and remove sand.

During the year 2023, the skilled Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of invaluable 170 lives, including 67 foreigners, in numbers of successful rescue operations.
