COAST GUARD RESCUED THREE LOCALS FROM RISK OF DROWNING

Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to Panadura and Gopalapuram public beach saved three locals during a successful rescue attempt on 24th August 2023.

Three local males aged 12, 25 & 30 years were rescued by Coast Guard lifesavers whilst at risk of drowning at sea. The expeditious response by skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers managed to save these local males despite the heavy current in the area.

So far in 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued 193 invaluable lives including 78 foreigners in several successful rescue attempts.
