COAST GUARD PERSONNEL ARRESTED KENDU LEAVES IN WATTAKKALLIYA BEACH AREA

On 25^th August 2023, officers from the Sri Lanka Coast Guard stationed at Chilaw, in collaboration with the Chilaw Police, apprehended two individuals and seized a lorry containing a shipment of 1231.8 kg of Kendu leaves.

The arrest was conducted following information provided by intelligence personnel from the Sri Lanka Coast Guard. The individuals who were apprehended, along with the seized items, were subsequently transferred to the Sub Preventive Office of Sri Lanka Customs in Katunayaka for further legal proceedings.
