COAST GUARD LIFESAVERS RESCUE TWO FRENCH LADIES

Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to Mirissa Lifesaving Post rescued two French ladies from drowning on evening 13^th September 2023.

Both of the ladies have visited have visited Mirissa beach in the evening for a sea bath. However, they had dragged away suddenly due to heavy sea currents. The alerted Coast Guard lifesavers responded immediately to ensure safety and prevented a possible tragic danger.

It is commendable that the lifesavers of Sri Lanka Coast Guard who are deployed in 16 strategically important locations around the island have rescued 199 invaluable lives including 81 foreigners during the year 2023 up to now in numbers of successful rescue operations.
