COAST GUARD LIFESAVERS SAVE A DUTCH LADY WHILST DROWNING

Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers rescued a Netherlands lady from drowning at the Mirissa public beach on 26th October 2023.

The lady who was 54 years of age, visited Mirissa beach to enjoy nature and to have a sea bath in the morning. While she was bathing, she experienced moving toward the sea and started drowning due to sea currents. Immediately, the vigilant lifesavers attached to Mirissa Lifesaving Post took prompt action to rescue the lady and bring her ashore safely.

It is highly appreciated that the lifesavers of Sri Lanka Coast Guard have rescued 216 invaluable lives including 96 foreign nationals within the year 2023 so far.
