SRI LANKA COAST GUARD RESCUED A FOREIGNER FROM THE RISK OF DROWNING

Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers at the Hikkaduwa lifesaving post successfully rescued a Russian nationality from drowning while bathing at the Hikkaduwa beach on 01st November 2023.

A 69-year-old female was submerged and dragged away by ocean currents whilst bathing at the sea. In sudden notice, the Coast Guard lifesavers attached to the Hikkaduwa lifesaving post responded promptly and rescued the victim without any life-threatening risks.

So far in 2023, the Coast Guard has rescued 221 individuals including 99 foreigners across the island demonstrating their dedication to saving lives.
