COAST GUARD RESCUED FOREIGNERS FROM DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post Mirissa public beach saved three foreigners during a successful rescue attempt on 02nd November 2023.

At the Mirissa public beach, a 27-year-old Russian male and two females (aged 26 and 54) who were at risk of drowning and being pulled away by currents were rescued by the Coast Guard rescuers stationed at the lifesaving post. Their bravery and unwavering commitment to the safety of those at sea have once again demonstrated that they are true guardians of the coastline.

So far in 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued 224 invaluable lives including 102 foreigners in several successful rescue attempts.
