COAST GUARD RESCUED THREE FOREIGNERS FROM DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post Mirissa public beach rescued three foreigners during a successful rescue attempt on 06th November 2023.

At Mirissa public beach, 41 years old two Latvian females and a 38 years old Iranian female who were at risk of drowning and being pulled away by currents were rescued by the Coast Guard rescuers stationed at the lifesaving post. The swift response by skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers managed to save these foreigners despite the sudden currents forming in the area.

So far in 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued 241 invaluable lives including 118 foreigners in numbers of successful rescue attempts.
