COAST GUARD RESCUED TWO FOREIGNERS FROM DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post Mirissa public beach rescued a foreign male and a female during a successful rescue attempt on 07th November 2023.

At Mirissa public beach, a 36 years old Latvian male and a 28 years old Latvian female who were at risk of drowning and being pulled away by currents were rescued by the Coast Guard rescuers stationed at the lifesaving post. The swift response by skilled Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers managed to save these foreigners despite the sudden currents forming in the area.

So far in 2023, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers attached to 16 life-saving posts around the country have rescued 243 invaluable lives including 120 foreigners in number of successful rescue attempts.
