SRI LANKA COAST GUARD RESCUES 11 FOREIGNERS

Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) lifesavers attached to Mirissa lifesaving post saved 11 invaluable lives from drowning at Mirissa public beach within 10 days from 28th November to 07th December 2023 in several successful rescue operations.

The special fact is that all rescued personnel were foreigners. There were four Russians among them including two kids. The others were three Slovakians, two Swedish and one each of Romanian and German nationals.

Up to now Sri Lanka Coast Guard has rescued 276 human lives including 146 foreigners within the year 2023. It is a clear indication of Sri Lanka Coast Guard’s social responsibility towards the general public.
