SRI LANKA COAST GUARD SAVES 33 INVALUABLE LIVES DURING THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY

Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) lifesavers rescued 33 lives including 20 foreign nationals whilst drowning at Mirissa, Hikkaduwa, Bentota, Balapitiya, Mount Lavinia, Gopalapuram (Trincomalee) and Panadura public beaches during the month of February in a number of successful rescue attempts.

The SLCG lifesavers managed to save 15 females and 18 males and amongst them were 13 local youths along with 11 Russians, 02 Austrians and one each from Australia, Germany, Poland, Spain, Somalia and Ukraine. It showcases the high vigilance, tireless commitment and skillfulness of the SLCG lifesavers.

With the above rescues the SLCG has rescued total of 2170 human lives including 979 foreigners by now.
