SRI LANKA COAST GUARD RESCUED ANOTHER 36 HUMAN LIVES WITHIN THE MONTH OF MARCH 2024

The lifesavers of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) who are attached to 16 lifesaving posts around the country have rescued 36 invaluable lives in several successful rescue operations during March 2024.

The significant factor in this figure is that 33 rescued personnel among 36 are foreigners. Further, out of the total rescued, 16 were females and 20 were males. Most of the rescued foreigners were Russians and the figure is 22.

The professionalism of SLCG lifesavers is highly commended by both local and international communities especially those related to the tourism industry. These rescue figures showcase the great alertness, commitment and skillfulness of lifesavers who perform their duties to a professional standard.

So far in 2024, the SLCG has rescued 89 human lives and a total of 2203 lives since the inception of lifeguard duties. The details of the successful life rescue operations conducted by SLCG during the month of March are as follows.
