SRI LANKA COAST GUARD RESCUED 09 LOCALS IN MONTH OF APRIL 2024

Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) lifesavers managed to rescue 09 local youths whilst drowning at sea in several successful rescue operations within the month of April 2024.

The all rescuees were below 32 years of age and five were teenagers. They were rescued from Hikkaduwa, Bentota, Mirissa and Wellawatte public beaches by the SLCG lifesavers attached to lifesaving posts at the respective beaches.

SLCG lifesavers always in alert throughout the daytime to rescues people and they are well trained professionals in life saving. It is showcased for many years by rescuing thousands of foreign and local invaluable human lives.

So far in 2024, SLCG has rescued 98 human lives and 2211 since inception of life guard duties.
