In a significant milestone for the Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG), a collaborative effort with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Government of Japan have resulted in a substantial donation of advanced equipment aimed at enhancing maritime security and surveillance capabilities.
At a formal ceremony, Minister Councilor Mr. Kikuchi Noboyuki of the Permanent Mission of Japan to Vienna, Mr. Kotaro Katsuki acting Ambassador of the Japan Embassy in Sri Lanka along with the distinguished delegation representing the Government of Japan, Mr. Alan Cole, Chief of the Border, Management Branch of UNODC and his esteemed team members, joined with Rear Admiral Pujitha Vithana the Director General of the SLCG and senior Coast Guard officers to mark this significant occasion.
On behalf of the SLCG heartfelt gratitude was extended for the generous support and collaboration that facilitated the donation of equipment to compile RADAR picture remote monitoring at the Coast Guard Headquarters (CGHQ).
