COMMANDER (ASW) RAVINDRA WIJESINGHE ASSUMED COMMAND OF THE SRI LANKA COAST GUARD SHIP JAYESAGARA

Commander (ASW) Ravindra Wijesinghe assumed duties as the 04th Commanding Officer of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard Ship Jayesagara on 16th January 2025, which is the second largest ship of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard. Before taking over the command as the Commanding Officer of SLCGS Jayesagara, Commander (ASW) Ravindra Wijesinghe was at the SLNS Samudura, discharging duties as the Executive Officer.

The Change of Command Ceremony was graced by the Director Training of Sri Lanka Coast Guard, Captain (N) Charitha Gunawantha. The former Commanding Officer of the ship, Commander (G) Tharaka Koswattage formally handed over the duties to his successor after a colorful ceremony at the Closenburg Pier, SLNS Dakshina.

The proceeding of the event came to closure after an inspection of divisions by the new Commanding Officer. Commander (G) Tharaka Koswattage has been appointed as the Directing Staff Naval Wing at DSCSC (BATALANDA).
