CAPTAIN (G) KLKH MARAMBAGE ASSUMED COMMAND OF THE SRI LANKA COAST GUARD SHIP SURAKSHA

Captain (G) Kelum Marambage officially assumed duties as the Commanding Officer of SLCGS Suraksha, the flagship of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard, on 23rd January 2025.

A Change of Command Ceremony was held at the Inner Yard Jetty, Trincomalee Harbour, to mark the occasion. The event was graced by the Deputy Director General of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard, Commodore Manoj Leelarathne. During the ceremony, the outgoing Commanding Officer, Captain (G) Prasad Vithanage, formally handed over responsibilities to his successor in a dignified and ceremonial setting.

Following the official proceedings, Captain (G) Kelum Marambage inspected the divisions of SLCGS Suraksha, symbolizing the commencement of his command. Captain (G) Prasad Vithanage has now been appointed as the Commanding Officer of SLNS Gemunu. The Sri Lanka Coast Guard extends its best wishes to both officers in their new assignments.
