On the 06^th August 2024, Coast Guard personnel attached to FMP Dikovita arrested/apprehended six fishermen who were found in possession of 34.9 kg of dried shark fish and fin onboard the fishing vessel IMUL-A-0467-CHW. The arrest took place during routine arrival formalities, showcasing the Coast Guard’s dedication to uphold maritime law enforcement and protecting endangered marine species.

The operation led to seizure 02 Indian trawlers and apprehend 22 Indian fishermen poaching in Sri Lankan waters off Kudiramalei Point in Kalpitiya sea area.
