The Life Savers attached to Coast Guard Life Saving Post, Mirissa rescued a Ukrainian male, during successful rescue attempt on 22^nd February 2022. A 31 years old Ukrainian male, was rescued whilst drowning and dragging away by currents near Mirissa beach. Victim was transferred to District General Hospital Matara by Suwa Seriya Ambulance Service to provide further medical care.

Three Hundred and Forty Three (343) sea turtle hatchlings hatched from 363 turtle eggs conserved under the SLCG Rohana at Mirissa and Life Saving Post Hikkaduwa were released safely into the sea on 17^th February 2022.

Based on the information provided by the Sri Lanka Coast Guard personnel, an injured Green Turtle (Chelonia Mydas) was rescued at Thalaramba beach, Mirissa with the support of the villages on 12^th February 2022. The rescued turtle with a gaping wound in its head was unable to swim and found very close to the shore.
