Our work especially in the area of coastal drowning prevention and surf safety is only made possible by the passion and professionalism of Coast Guard Life Savers who are trained from Life Saving Training School (LSTS).

A ceremony to mark the commencement of a first working day in the New Year-2022 and reading the Oath of Public Servants was held under the auspices of the Director General of Sri Lanka Coast Guard, Rear Admiral Anura Ekanayake at the Coast Guard Headquarters, Mirissa on 03^rd January 2022.

The Director General of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard Rear Admiral Anura Ekanayake awarded Letters of Commendation to five Coast Guard lifesavers in recognition of their exceptional performance in rescuing civilian lives endangered due to drowning in an exemplary manner, whilst performing duties as active lifesavers during the period under review from 01^st January to 29^th December 2021.

The Coast Guard Turtle Conservation Project (CGTCP) was launched in September 2012 with the purpose of preserving the turtles, eggs and raising the awareness of sea turtle conservation in Sri Lanka as a part of the duties and functions of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard to assist in the conservation of marine species.
