COAST GUARD RESCUED A LOCAL FROM DROWNING

The Lifesavers attached to Sri Lanka Coast Guard Lifesaving Post, Mirissa beach saved a local during a successful rescue attempt on 20th November 2022.

An 18-year-old male was rescued by Coast Guard rescuers at Mirissa lifesaving post whilst drowning at sea. The quick response by skilled Sri Lankan Coast Guard lifesavers managed to save this young boy's life.

Up to now, Sri Lanka Coast Guard lifesavers have rescued a total of 1778 invaluable lives including 765 foreigners in a number of successful rescue attempts.
