On 10th October, the SLCG Rohana Base, in collaboration with the CGHQ, organized a much needed safety and awareness programme for whale-watching boat owners and crew members at Mirissa.
This initiative, crucial for enhancing maritime safety and preserving the local marine ecosystem, saw enthusiastic participation from all attendees. The programme was aimed at improving safety protocols, educating participants on best practices and ensuring the sustainability of whale-watching operations in the area.
The event was graced by Coast Guard officials including Director Personnel and Administration Captain Suranga Paranavithana, Regional Director Southern Region and Commanding Officer SLCG Rohana Captain Inesh Preethimal.
